As August hits, stores have begun their summer sales and the release of fall collections hit the floor – we all know its that time of the season: transitional dressing. There are a lot of styles you can take from your summer wardrobe straight into early Fall, let’s see how!

My go-to when it comes to transitioning into fall are terraccota tones: those brown, tan and deep orange hues are perfect as they are neutrals (a key to transitional dressing is to take inspiration from neutrals and classic colors – they are timeless and seasonless!).
This outfit is inspired by italian days, cool summer breezes by the ocean leaning into chilled nights under the stars. La dolce vita, as some may say!
When I choose my outfit for the day, I always think of ONE piece I’m in the mood to wear, and then I style the look around it. For this outfit, my inspiration was this beautiful Self Portrait wrap skirt; an interesting shape, in a tan brown with a leather-effect and buckle at the waist. It leaves room for lots of playing around: you can keep it simple and pair the skirt with a white tee, a black off-shoulder sweater or a tucked in oversized shirt – or you can enhance the look with a clashing print, like I did here.
Pairing solid colors with prints is always a go-to, as it adds more dimension and mood to the outfit, making it look way less simple. This Mango print is fairly subtle; a soft geometric pattern in tan lies over a solid black background making the print noticeable, but not loud. It pairs beautifully with the tones of the skirt and is the perfect day-to-night look. Grab a pair of your favorite shoes – for me that’s red mules for the summer months and black ankle boots for the fall. You are good to go!
I hope you enjoyed this look and got some inspiration on dressing for the transitional months!
Lots of love,
Bianca
