Life is busy. When is it not? Between being a full-time blogger and a full-time masters student, life always got the best of me — but I enjoy it. Every day, every hour, every minute of my time, because I am doing what I love.
Fast forward a few months and I started thinking to myself (as my university classes geared towards their end, and my time would be free for me to do as I please), what is it that I love? The answer was simple: I love what I do, I love social media, creating campaigns with brands I’m passionate about, writing my thoughts and sharing inspirational content, so why not do that as a living? The answer to that however, wasn’t as simple.
Let’s put it out of our minds that it was my parents influence over what I do for a living, and that “social media” wouldn’t be a sustainable career, because let’s face it, our parents didn’t live in a world where social media was present, and their doubts about it are perfectly reasonable. But although that discussion has come up, my parents only want the best for me, and repeatedly told me how they want me to do something that I love. “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life”, right?
So, jumping into full-time blogging and social media, as my job, was never out of the question for me. Like I said, that it what I truly love. But after thinking about where I am now, and where and WHO I want to be in two, ten, twenty years time, the answer to that question seemed a little more obvious.
I’m a girl in a big world, with very big dreams. Not only do I want a happy life, but I want an empowered one. I want to feel motivated every day, to do my best and more. Sure social media will take me there: my passion for it is so immense, it’s sometimes all I can think about, it is the air that I breathe. But maybe it isn’t where it all ends for me. Maybe, there is a new job for me out there, one that I can grow from in another way, and one that will help make me so proud of who I am, in twenty years time.
So yes, I’ve started a new journey. A new job, which you’ve probably guessed by the title, as a Fashion Buyer. And I promise, I’ll tell you all about it very soon.
Lots of love,
Bianca
