The second look I wore to this season’s London Fashion Week shows was all about giving off that edgy/rocker vibe! It’s definitely a big trend at the moment, from leather fabric to metal eyelet details, studs, crochet and velvet – the ‘bad girl’ style has taken a new twist on fashion without going too grunge; it remains a feminine and empowering look whilst being more daring!
When I put together an outfit I often think of one piece I would love to wear that day, and I style the look around it. For this look that item was these show-stopper velvet boots from L’intervalle, and then the full outfit just came together perfectly from there! To create a nice contrast with the deep burgundy tones I went for black pieces that would play nicely against the boots and make the look effortless rather than overdone.
Something I love to do when wearing a one-tone color is to bring out the details in the pieces by picking out ones with texture. I went for this beautiful created top by Natalia Kiantoro, which is off the shoulder with crochet sleeves, and to match it I wore a faux leather skirt with studded detail from Misspap.
I love everything about this look, as I had really wanted to sport the edgy rocker girl look for one of the LFW days. Velvet has made a big statement for the past season and it is still here to stay: any piece from a dress to trousers and even shoes completely amp up your look and take it to a new level with the texture. I’m particularly obsessed with these stunning velvet over the knee boots from L’intervalle (I actually worked with them on a short video lookbook – you can see it on my Instagram here!), they are so comfortable and quite chic as they really elongate your legs!
To finish off the outfit, a bold and printed backpack was the perfect choice to give this outfit a more relaxed vibe, whilst still being very much on trend! This super cool Kurt Geiger backpack gives off Asiatic vibes with the print and gold leaf detail, which is also a big trend the luxury brand Gucci has made popular!
I hope you like this outfit, would love to hear your thoughts on the trend!
