D’or et d’argent was first introduced to me through social media, where I came in contact with the founders of this new brand. The medium in which they work and the innovative designs they create really spoke to me, and thereby I became a fan of d’or et d’argent and all that they stood for. Together we have had some really great collaborations, beginning with my article on their brand and first collection for my blog. But it wasn’t going to stop there! Today I want to show you a total look wearing one of the t-shirts the founders of d’or et d’argent gifted me: the Shanghai t-shirt illustrating the Shanghai skyline.
I simply love how d’or et d’argent took the image of their cities and embed it into their designs in such a creative and original way. Their whole first collection stands out to me due to the vibrant mix of such materialistic objects, such as city landmarks, with an artsy design. The Shanghai skyline is shown from a completely different perspective: the skyline in the Shanghaiing city flipped upside down. But rather then looking distorted, the image looks particularly intriguing, and certainly compliments the beauty of the landmark. To add a pop of color, bold orange shapes around the image. And all this seen from the viewpoint of the designers of d’or et d’argent themselves.
I decided to style the Shanghai t-shirt with boxy black on white stripped shorts to keep the minimalistic look and to focus the attention on the vibrancy in the t-shirt. Of course, my high platform white and black Fornarina shoes were the perfect match, adding high black socks for a sporty effect. Jewelry is always important to add in a look, so I decided on gold bracelets with orange detail matching the t-shirt, and big gold ring to top it off. This Shanghai t-shirt can really be worn at any size depending on what look you want to give, but I’m wearing it oversized for a relaxed, sporty rebel feel. What do you think of the outcome?
