My most anticipated show of the Paris Fashion Week SS17 season was without a doubt Chanel, which took place in the stunning interiors of the Grand Palais. It was my very first time attending the show, and from the moment I arrived outside the venue until the grand finale of Chanel, it was such a breathtaking experience to be able to watch it live! Chanel is one of the brands I admire so much, and it was a dream come true to be at the show!
For the Chanel SS17 show I decided to go for a classic, elegant and feminine look wearing a tuxedo blazer by Karl Lagerfeld but adding an edgy twist in my embellished Karl t-shirt! I’ve always been a fan of Karl’s signature style as a designer, and so I wanted to wear an iconic suited look for the show but with a modern and edgier vibe to it. I paired the classic satin tuxedo outfit with a Karl Lagerfeld graphic and embellished tee, over the knee suede boots and the coolest hairstyle with braids and a low pony done by Tatiana Karelina to give the look a messy and effortless feel. Do you love it as much as I do?

This season’s Chanel SS17 show centered around a theme that is deeply connected to us all: the digital age and a world of innovation that binds fashion with technology. Chanel‘s collections have constantly used the most innovative fabrics in the most creative ways, and this season Karl Lagerfeld aimed to showcase the true importance of technology to fashion and to the industry, in his Data Center inspired collection.
Chanel SS17 is all about seduction and the cyber-age, the contrast between feminine and soft with empowerment and modernity which was illustrated through the tweed jackets layered over delicate lingerie. The Data Center Chanel theme beautifully intertwined this vision of ‘intimate technology’, worn by the timeless and modern woman today. What I absolutely loved was the power of this collection, with a story we all care about because it is our era. The collection consisted of iconic Chanel tweed two-pieces and classic tailoring, revisited. It’s a collection that combines lingerie with sports luxe, technicolor prints with LED panels and lit-up robotic handbags.
With Chanel it is all in the detail: each stitch of tweed metaphorically representing cable wires in a Data Center. Each look was beautifully accessorised, with pearl necklaces, large chains falling along the model’s backs and C shaped earrings to complete every outfit that walked down the runway. The collection felt very streetstyle, made for the modern jet-set woman, with a cap to match every look. It’s young, vibrant and fun, but still very much signature Chanel.
