THE BOMBER WITH THE MIXED PRINTS

I believe that a good statement piece, like this intricate and detailed bomber jacket, may just be all you need to make an outfit work! When I put together outfits, I first pick out one piece, or even one item, such as a hat, a pair of shoes, a jacket, top, chunky necklace.., that I really feel like wearing that day or for that particular event, and then the rest will just come along. It may seem so simple but trust me, sometimes putting together a look may be more complicated than you might think!

This particular outfit is actually quite a special one, and for two reasons. Firstly, I wore this look to a very important event, which was for an editorial photoshoot at the W Hotel in London in their fabulous and simply breathtaking WOW Suite! Whitney and I (a good blogger friend of mine) were both invited, and we had such a blast! But those photos will come later.. ;)

The second reason is due to the start of a new and very exciting collaboration with a French brand that I used to know well as kid: René Derhy! It has been many many years since I owned a piece from the clothing line René Derhy, but when they came in contact with me about working together for a long-term, I couldn’t help but say yes! What I love is that throughout all the years that I have known their brand, and since they first originated, René Derhy has always stayed true to their brand image and core values. They are a brand that has a love for mixing different prints, bright colors and textures, and I find that so refreshing and fun to play with!

The first piece that I chose for a feature on my blog is the ‘Veste Illogique‘ due to the fact that it really does sum up René Derhy’s brand in that is has mixed prints (black lace and patched flowers) and that it is full of color! I decided that ‘less is more’ with this jacket already being the centrepiece of the look, and paired it with a sequinned top, simple denim jeans, and a bag I borrowed from Whitney that matches the colors of the flowers on the jacket just perfectly! In terms of accessories I didn’t want them to be too heavy, so my new MeMe London bracelets that were so kindly gifted to me by the founders of the brand were just the right final touch! Each beaded bracelet has a special meaning, signified by a little charm dangling on the bracelet. I just love how versatile and adorable they are! So, what do you think of this look?

Love,
Bibi

  1. Ahh…so cool! I put my outfits together exactly the same way :) Sometimes a lipstick is enough to inspire the rest of the look. It’s so much easier to pick one item and go from there than to think of an entire look from scratch. Good fashion blogger advice ;) Also, I really love that jacket. The delicate lace and floral print inject just the right amount of feminity into the look.
